First Meeting between BGE/BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH and KORAD

Pioneering meeting between Germany and South Korea marks the start of a promising partnership in nuclear waste management

On November 29, BGE, BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH and Korea Radioactive Waste Agency (KORAD) had their very first meeting. This gathering set the stage for a potential partnership in the field of radioactive waste management between Germany and South Korea. During the meeting, the partners explored areas of synergy and collaboration through a series of presentations.

The experience of BGE in the construction and operation of deep geological repositories as well as the expertise of BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH in the implementation of waste management programmes throughout the world perfectly complement KORAD’s ongoing activities regarding the Korean site selection for a radioactive waste disposal facility. The meeting concluded with a commitment to further investigate opportunities for collaboration.
