Information Event about the Research Project CHRISTA-II

On June 15th of this year, an online information event took place on the BMWi-funded research project with the acronym CHRISTA-II.

In the past decades, safety concepts and methodological principles for the assessment of the safe containment of high-level radioactive waste have been developed in Germany for the host rocks salt and clay. The aim of the CHRISTA-II project is to develop an analogous approach for a safety assessment also for crystalline rock as host rock. The research project is carried out by BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH (BGE TEC), Gesellschaft für Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) gGmbH, and Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR) and coordinated by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA). The presentations in German language can be downloaded here.
