US/German Workshop: A New Look at an Old Tradition
Some of the participants in the first virtual session of the 11th US-German Workshop on Salt Repository Research, Design, and Operation
BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH together with Sandia National Laboratories and PTKA are hosting the 11th US-German workshop on Salt Repository Research, Design, and Operation as online event this year. While the event in 2020 had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation team made a virtue out of necessity and instead of a physical meeting, the workshop is now designed as online event spread in four sessions over the year 2021.
The first online session took place on February 2nd and focused on the current state of the respective national waste management programmes. Representatives from DOE, BGE, COVRA, and RWM presented their latest developments and discussed them with more than 80 participants. The next online sessions will take place in June and September this year.
